Configuring and Designing Your Bespoke Camper
Welcome to Style Campers we are here to help with the many options you have, to design your dream Campervan.
One of the first questions you should be asking yourself is "what is your intended use for your recreational vehicle" this may seem a strange question to ask but this is the single most important question as this effects every aspect of your campervan build.
The answer to your question generally falls into 3 categories
a) Day Van
Generally speaking the usage for this type of vehicle is mainly  recreational days out, with overnight stays or on a sited pitch with an electrical hook up. Usually this type of vehicle will not have a shower, be a smaller sized vehicle such as VW Transporter or Crafter Mercedes SWB/MWB or a Ford Transits
b) Hook Up Motorhome
These are the most popular for Camping weeks away on site, vehicles will generally have showers, bathrooms and all Mod Cons, they also use an electrical hook up.
c) Off Grid Campers
Usually these vehicles are fully self sufficient and totally independent from the grid, hence the name. They have larger waste and water tanks, larger solar systems and increased battery banks, some even have generators. Ideal vehicles are LWB Sprinters and Crafters.

After you have chosen what type of camper suits your requirements, the next consideration is your budget.

When choosing your vehicle nowadays choosing a Euro 6 vehicle is the preferred option, as costs for entering cities can be high as £100 per day. Once you have set your budget choosing the right vehicle can reduce your costs over a set period of say 5 years. The Mercedes & Volkswagen manufacturers are usually a slightly higher cost but do cover the miles very well. Generally speaking a Motorhome does not cover a vast amount of miles, so buying a higher mileage VW or Mercedes work out as the most cost effective options.

Air Conditioning

A 12V roof air conditioner designed for use in campervans and van conversions up to 6 metres. This air conditioner is ideal for cooling and dehumidifying the sleeping area of a vehicle. It can also be used in the sleeping areas of larger vehicles that do not exceed 9m3 in size.

This Plein-Aircon unit kicks out an impressive 1200W of output and is recommended to use with a minimum of 150AH leisure battery. For those visiting campsites with access to mains power, a 220V Smart Switch can be easily added to this unit. Once the vehicle is plugged into mains, the unit will automatically switch to operating from mains power.

Hot Water And Heating

Truma Combi Boiler

Combi 6 E is a warm air heater with integrated hot water generator. It’s different from Combi 6 due to its integrated electric heating elements. These allow you to run the heater in gas, electrical or mixed mode. For stationary use at camp sites, you can run the Combi heater with the 12V power supply unit without the vehicle battery.

Cookers

The Thetford K1520 comes either as all gas with 4 hob rings, or as a dual fuel stovetop with 3 gas rings combined with a 1000 watt electric hotplate. The hotplate has a diameter of 145 mm, giving you plenty of cooking space and energy flexibility

This Navy Load Double-Burner Gas Hob is a superbly engineered and practical campervan motorhome caravan or marine hob. Made from stainless steel and a tough 8mm T-Safe tempered safety glass lid, the NL.21001 double burner cooker will look great in any kitchen or galley.

Fridges
